Destination Guide

Myriad Botanical Gardens is a major public green space in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. The gardens combine lawns, walking paths, water features, seasonal plantings and event areas with the striking Crystal Bridge Conservatory, a glass-enclosed tropical structure that has long served as the site's visual centerpiece. The park is important to the evolution of downtown Oklahoma City. Created as part of late twentieth-century urban redevelopment, it became one of the city's primary gathering spaces and helped introduce more landscaping and pedestrian activity into a district once dominated by streets, parking and office buildings. Visitors can enjoy the gardens casually without needing a fixed itinerary. The outdoor grounds are especially good for walking, photography and family breaks between downtown attractions, while the conservatory offers a concentrated indoor plant experience. Its location near the convention center, Scissortail Park, arena and downtown hotels makes the gardens one of the easiest Oklahoma City destinations to incorporate into a broader trip. The attraction is less about one must-see feature than the overall combination of urban design, mature landscaping and public space.
