Our Roots Run Deep.
Our Curiosity Runs Deeper.
We're fifth-generation Okies, and Oklahoma has always been home.
We're proud of where we come from, but one of the things we've discovered is just how much of our own state we've never really seen.
There are stories everywhere here. They're hidden along old highways, preserved in historic homes and battlefields, scattered across small towns, carved into the landscape, and sometimes found at the end of a dirt road you might otherwise never think to take.
That's why we created OkieX.
Pick a place. Take the back road.
Learn the story. Go see Oklahoma.
OkieX started as a way for our family to explore Oklahoma and better understand the history, people, places, and events that made this state what it is today. Along the way, we realized there are hundreds of fascinating destinations — some famous, some nearly forgotten — that deserve to be discovered.
And we're exploring them right alongside you.
As we make our way across Oklahoma, we'll continue updating OkieX with our own photographs, discoveries, observations, and experiences from the places we visit. Some trips will take us to Oklahoma's best-known landmarks. Others may lead to an abandoned town, an old battlefield, a strange roadside attraction, a local legend, or a place with an incredible story hiding in plain sight.

Think of OkieX as both a guide and an invitation.
We invite you to follow along with our family as we explore the state we call home — and we hope OkieX helps you discover a few adventures of your own.
