Destination Guide

Keystone State Park lies on the south side of Keystone Lake west of Tulsa, making it one of the most accessible state-park lake destinations for the Tulsa metro area. The park offers camping, cabins, fishing, boating and shoreline recreation within an easy drive of the city. Keystone Lake was created on the Arkansas and Cimarron river system, and its broad water provides a strong contrast with the wooded ridges around the park. Anglers target catfish, bass and other species, while boaters use nearby ramps and marina facilities. The park is especially useful for quick weekend trips because visitors can reach a substantial lake without driving deep into rural Oklahoma. Sunsets over the water can be excellent, and fall brings cooler temperatures and changing foliage. Nearby Keystone Ancient Forest adds a very different natural experience, allowing travelers to combine reservoir recreation with old-growth cross timbers in the same general area.

Practical Tips

One of the closest lake parks to Tulsa — great for a quick getaway. The sand volleyball area is popular on weekends.
