Destination Guide

Arrowhead State Park lies on the shores of Lake Eufaula and provides a quieter, more spacious recreation experience than some of the lake's busier developments. The park includes wooded shoreline, camping areas, trails and access to one of Oklahoma's largest reservoirs. Fishing and boating are major attractions, with broad water and numerous coves supporting bass, crappie, catfish and other species. The park's open setting also makes it a good place for wildlife observation and relaxed family camping. Because Lake Eufaula is so large, conditions can feel different from one part of the reservoir to another. Wind can build significant waves on open water, while sheltered coves remain calm. Seasonal lake levels also affect beaches and shoreline access. Arrowhead works well for visitors who want lake recreation without a heavy entertainment-district atmosphere. Its location in southeastern-central Oklahoma makes it accessible while still providing the sense of being away from major urban areas.

Practical Tips

The golf course is a hidden gem. Boat ramps provide excellent Lake Eufaula access for fishing.
